A rising concern among people is the frequent failures of international payments through Revolut. Recent reports highlight multiple instances where payments vanish from accounts, leaving recipients frustrated and incurring extra charges, especially for those relying on it for client transactions.
An Indian client revealed three separate instances where payments made through Revolut never arrived. Instead, these transactions reverted back to the sender's account after several days, often incurring charges of 50 euros. This caused significant frustration for the recipient, who primarily uses Wise for international transactions, noting that Wise transfers arrive instantly.
Despite this preference for Wise, many clients still opt for Revolut, leaving the recipient puzzled. "I share all the required bank details, but it just goes back to themsuper frustrating," the recipient explains. Interestingly, some forums have individuals asking whether banks might not be accepting SWIFT transactions from Revolut, a notion that seems plausible given a few experiences.
Commenters on user boards have expressed their own issues:
Unawareness of Issues: "Those guys are unaware of these transactions. They said they aren't able to locate the money."
Bank Policy Questions: "Have you asked your bank this question? It sounds like they are not accepting a bank transfer via SWIFT from Revolut, which is rather strange."
๐ฉ Multiple reports indicate payments reverting to sender accounts after attempts to transfer using Revolut.
๐ฌ "Super frustrating" remains a sentiment echoed by affected clients.
๐ Some banks may not support receiving funds from Revolut via SWIFT, complicating the situation further.
As people increasingly move to digital payment platforms, complications like this raise questions about reliability and security. With some banks reportedly rejecting these transactions, how can clients feel safe using such platforms? Only time will tell if Revolut can address these ongoing issues.
